Maybe later on I'll be better at introducing myself. I'm 21 and I am studying in college to learn computer programming. I am pretty much obsessed with electronics and nostalgia so I work with new and old computer games. I also like Asian stuff and love my two cats at least some of the time. I can read a bit of Japanese and Spanish but I'm not very good at speaking it. I also use Arch Linux a lot. I will use Windows from time to time when I need more battery life on my laptop during class or I'm playing certain games but I love using the terminal, especially to write this very code in Vim or Kate. I also played the violin for a pretty long time and I was OK at it. Got too burned out and didn't want to play it anymore but perhaps I'll get into it again some other time. Maybe guitar instead because I like my 2000s rock/metal.
lol messy desk. also this list needs to get updated
Arch Linux, Hyprland, alacritty, waybar, Kate, Waterfox, pcmanfm, fish shell
1920x1080 240hz
Ryzen 7 5800H and RX 6700M
16gb RAM and 1TB SSD
I have two other Asus laptops but they are both busted. I used the thinkpad for a bit then now I have this laptop and I love it. It's all AMD, technically two gpu's but much easier to setup in Linux than the ROG to use the better dedicated gpu. I think all you need to do is set an enviornment variable. I also have windows 11 for playing rdr2. It does run on proton but not very good imo. Games that I play on linux rn with this laptop include Doom Eternal, Minecraft Java and GTA Online.
I can play better now with Proton GE. Got rid of windows 11. I have a VM for flashing phones with odin but just found a program to do that in the linux terminal.
Got it a year or two ago. I've broken the plastic around the top of the screen and broke the latch holding in the optical drive. Also the middle click on the keyboard doesn't work after getting two scrap keyboards from China but oh well. It's a very neat laptop from 7 or so years ago and it's what I used before I got my ROG laptop in mid 2020.
Core i5 2520M, Intel HD Graphics 3000, 8GB RAM, upgraded cpu to i7-2720QM and now also gets cell service with an add on card and SIM card.
1366x768 TFT screen, upgraded to 1920x1080 LCD with new screen and converter board
500GB HDD, Arch Linux and Windows 7. Used to have Windows XP but it got a bit corrupted. I also have a 200gb NTFS partition to keep files in so they are easily accessable from all operating systems. Battery life is about as bad as my ROG, like almost two hours even with a replacement battery I got.

Battery used to last 2 minutes now it's cooked. Fun laptop to burn CDs, play DVDs, trying to play games and do other stuff. I used to actually do my school work on it few years ago, browsing the Internet and everything. If I wanted to watch YouTube I'd use a website to download the video in 360p and watch in VLC. I programmed in Java for computer science and robotics on it. Better than using a Lenovo Chromebook with LANSchool spyware on it. Also I have two of these now.
Windows XP SP3
Pentium 4
ATI Mobility Radeon 7500
1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, 1024x768 screen
either a tecra or satillite i forget. the cmos battery is dead on it
todo
Not Windows 11 supported btw, all the more reason to use Linux on it.
Ryzen 5 1600, XFX RX 580, 500GB NVME SSD
Gigabyte AX370M-DS3H
HP Pavillion 2560x1440 60Hz monitor
Arch Linux btw
7200 RPM 1TB WD Blue, used to have two working ones but I moved partitions around so much I fried them but managed to fix one by swapping the driver boards. I actually have two of this computer but one has a fried CPU as well as the fried HDD, yeah. Only real difference is one has an MSI motherboard I think instead of Gigabyte but both came with 8gb of RAM so now I have 16gb DDR4 which is pretty safe standard for me. I also have a 1tb toshiba drive in the computer too, I've got several harddrives these past few years from goodwill, often they're in plastic enclosures with USB.
Here it is with my dual 1440p HP Pavillion monitor setup. Used to have a really sketchy SSD in it that GRUB would stop working if the computer ever froze which it does every now and then and I had to force reboot. Since my ASUS laptops are borked I have one of the SSD's from those laptops in this PC and I don't have that issue anymore. It will occasionally freak out but I don't need to redo GRUB.
Redfox TX-5IB2 motherboard, with 2 USB headers and a PS/2 header. AT to PS/2 adapter as well.
Pentium 166Mhz, 64MB PC100 RAM, Used a 16GB compact flash to IDE, I also have a quantum bigfoot now with 6gb of space.
Used to use an s3 virge but think I half fried it a while back. It now has some ati mach 64 gpu.
I have a Soundblaster 16 now for it.
Sometimes I will hook up IDE floppy drive and IDE CD-RW drive but most of the time I get away with mounting ISOs. If I try to play something like Command and Conquer from CD it'll just lock up but if I mount the ISO it works fine.
I've been looking for a case to house it but right now they're too expensive and I'm not even sure I'll get the right one.
todo it has a case now
Found it on the sidewalk.
used to use it on the floor with a CRT or move my modern monitor for an older dell TFT. I like using those but i just dont the space for it to have its own area. Now i have adapters to use my old computers on my modern monitor. I added in a slightly faster cpu i think by like 200 mhz and also put in an fx 5200. Better than integrated graphics and it's also got a cmedia sound card. I sometimes use a wifi dongle on it.

got it for $100 on ebay mid 2022. It had a pentium ii but i've changed the motherboard and cpu so it's now a 500mhz pentium iii. 300mb of ram may later change them for 512mb as the current RAM seems flaky until I messed with it enough.
Riva TNT2 M64 and Ethernet card
Soundblaster 16, will switch it between this and the pentium mmx even though I got windows 2000.
I've had this since about Feburary and it is an EXCELLENT phone for the most part. I have Lineage OS 20 on it now and I love the screen covering the whole phone and the front camera coming out of the top. I am very anxious about a lot of things and it is nice knowing for sure when the front camera is being used. My dad had this phone before me and when he had it I had the Oneplus 7T which is also an excellent phone too. Oh and did I mention the 30 watt fast charge and in screen finger print sensor? I am sad there is no headphone jack but yeah I have to deal with it. For earbuds I use the fiio fd1 with a usb c dongle. Also I have switched the battery like a million times, rn I get 4, 5 hours of screen on time, 12 or so hours total.
SpecsTo me it's basically a smaller iPhone 13. Tons of nostalgia from when my dad had the iPhone 4 when it was new. This is running iOS 6 without any Coolbooter kerfuffle. I love the old design of iOS, I love tinkering with it, and I love to look the many things that are still possible to do on it.
I've had the galaxy s6 edge for a while but I've traded it with a family member for a galaxy s6. It previously had a very swollen battery that was pushing off the glass. I got another battery for it but it was too thick so I couldn't put the glass on flush. Just now I got a battery that properly fits. It has lineage os 16 and I love that it has an IR blaster.
The s6 now has delaminated screen so now I have an s5 to take its place as a remote.
It's the original Xenon model on latest firmware and there aren't any mod chips I know of that will work on it. It has a 20gb hdd on it and I have one of the wireless controllers with the chatpad. I had the xbox 360 a lot before this one so I already have a bunch of games digitally and on disc. Occasionally I play GTA IV on it because I never got to play it before and it is a pain to run a cracked copy on PC.
I kind of already wanted a slightly newer Xbox 360 later on so I could have one with the HDMI port, more storage, or just one that is compatible with the available modchips out there. I got the Xenon from ebay but this Falcon/Elite model is from a local Goodwill electronics store. It said that everything was tested but when I got it home the disc drive wouldn't read any games, just acted like I had no disc inside. It still had the seal inside so I took it apart to clean out the fans and eventually replaced the drive like I originally did with the Xenon. The Xenon was already having E74 errors here and there and occasional RROD but now it kept doing that so perfect oppurtunity to switch over the drive from that. I have to resolder wires as the driver board cannot be replaced or it'll only be able to read DVDs I think. But yeah I might be able to do an RGH mod to it, the equipment to do it isn't too expensive so it's possible that I attempt to do it.
